work.

Currently, I'm in two different shows: Oklahoma and Bye Bye Birdie. Right now they're consuming my life. They're still in the rehearsal process but opening night for Oklahoma is three weeks away! Agh! If you're in the area, come see it! It's March 24th at the Jefferson Center at 7PM; and shows at William Byrd are 2PM & 7PM the 26th, and an understudy show at 2PM on the 27th. I'll be playing Will Parker, the back-flipping/dancing cowboy.

Bye Bye Birdie is my high school's main stage production. I'm playing Albert Peterson. Normally I wouldn't make the time to do it, but Bye Bye Birdie inspired me to become a performer at the teeny tiny age of 5; I had to audition. It's amazing being the lead, but with great roles comes alot of work. It's always that way. Whether you're the principle dancer in a ballet or the lead in the community theatre- you have to work harder. Before every curtain call comes blood, sweat, and tears. If you want that golden star on your dressing room with your name it, you better be prepared to work. I intend to work until the day I die, because I love it so much.

Equation for success as a performer:

WORK = WERK

*If you do not WORK, you will never be able to WERK (werk is a term used when someone is fierce, powerful, and controlled on stage or reaches an impressive amount of skill in a performing art).
EX: "She werked when she kicked her leg up to her head out of doing 5 pirouttes. WERK!"

from that dancer guy to you,
Tony
