This is entirely random, entirely. But, the picture above is from a scene in the new movie Burlesque. In this scene in particular, I was reminded SO much of my bestest best best friend in the whole wide world, Sarah. When I say "best friend", I mean it. Anyways, I just wanted to share. Sarah has that pop. The extra umph you need to really sell it to the audience. I've seen Sarah make this expression (as in the picture) a million and one times. I really hope she makes it as a dancer on Broadway, or a Rockette. Either or works, she's the perfect height! At nationals this year in June, two of our judges were New York guys who've worked up and down the great white way. The minute Sarah turned to face the audience in her rendition of Fosse's "Rich Man Frug", the two men were blown away. All it took was for her to turn around and roll a shoulder, no turn or leap- just a roll of the shoulder. They compared her stage presence to that of Ann Reiking and said Bob Fosse would eat her up! Can you believe it? She captivates people when she dances, I feel like a proud big brother every time I watch her dance. Anyways, I just felt like sharing her talent.
